The Spiritual Counselor provides spiritual support to patients and families facing advanced or end-of-life illnesses. They are responsible for implementing and coordinating spiritual care in accordance with the hospice plan of care within an interdisciplinary team.
A graduate degree in Divinity or Theology and a Certificate of Ordination are preferred, along with at least two years of pastoral experience. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, an insured vehicle, and experience counseling patients with terminal illnesses.
Graduate degree e.g.: Master of Divinity or Theology preferred or equivalent theological education. Minimum two years pastoral experience in a hospital or community ministry preferred. Certificate of Ordination preferred. Demonstrated ability to be open, flexible and ecumenical. Experience counseling patients and families who are dealing with terminal illness. Demonstrated understanding of hospice philosophy and principles. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation, and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and in good working order. #INDCHAP The Pay Range listed is the anticipated hiring range of this position. Precise pay rates are determined through consideration of one or more of the following: education, training, relevant experience and work location. There are some cases in which the pay rate could exceed the range listed on this job post.
