Responsibilities

• Perform imaging examinations, including mammography, for patients from newborn to geriatric, ensuring quality and safety per protocol; corroborate clinical history and appropriate follow-up needs.
• Prepare patients, provide instructions, position and immobilize as needed, obtain informed consent, and assist the radiologist during procedures.
• Operate imaging equipment, select correct protocols, conduct basic QA/QC, transfer images to PACS, and maintain accurate patient records and data storage.
• Verify requests, ensure proper identification and safety measures, apply radiation protection principles, and respond to changes in workflow or emergencies as needed.
• Participate in department operations and training, contribute to quality improvement efforts, and uphold universal precautions and MQSA requirements.

Requirements

• Current ARRT registration (R)(M) or equivalent; ARRT mammography certification required.
• BLS certification current.
• Initial training in digital mammography and tomosynthesis required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program with dedicated mammography training preferred; ARRT may be accepted in lieu of accredited graduation.
• Two years post-graduation experience preferred; unregistered technologists may be considered for Diagnostic Imaging Technician I.
• MQSA-related expectations: 15 breast CEU within 36 months and 200 mammography exams in 24 months preferred.
• COVID vaccination proof may be required for travel assignments.
