Position Summary

• Join our team in an 18-bed Emergency Room unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• We are staffed with RNs, ED techs and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions.
• The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for acutely ill patients.
• The Emergency Department Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, their skills in clinical judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management to care for patients throughout the life span and with a variety of healthcare needs.
• The registered nursed also performs assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six (6) months of hire
• Recent RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing experience
• One (1) year of ER experience
• One (1) year of Psychiatry experience
