About the role

The role involves supporting Alzheimer's disease research through tissue culture and transgenic mouse models. Key duties include isolating extracellular vesicles and performing biochemical and histological analyses of mouse tissue.

Job description

A full time, entry level position involving the studies of tissue culture and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The projects involve isolation of extracellular vesicles, biochemical and immunolabeling/histological analyses of mouse tissue. This position will support the Postdoctoral Fellows within the laboratory, although the highly qualified applicant will be able to develop research autonomy.

Job duties

  • Animal handling.
  • Biochemical analyses.
  • Immunolabeling/histology of fixed tissue.
  • Collection of data, including quantitative microscopic analyses of fixed immunolabeled tissue.
  • General laboratory work/preparation.
  • Cell culture.

Job qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS in cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, or related biological fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling small laboratory animals.
  • Cell culture experience preferred.
  • Some experience with Western blot analysis and/or tissue immunolabeling/histology is helpful.
