About the role

Support postdoctoral fellows in studying Alzheimer's disease using tissue culture and transgenic mouse models. Responsibilities include biochemical analyses, immunolabeling, and the collection of quantitative microscopic data.

Job Description

A full time, entry level position involving the studies of tissue culture and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The projects involve isolation of extracellular vesicles, biochemical and immunolabeling/histological analyses of mouse tissue. This position will support the Postdoctoral Fellows within the laboratory, although the highly qualified applicant will be able to develop research autonomy. JOB DUTIES:

Animal handling.

Biochemical analyses.

Immunolabeling/histology of fixed tissue.

Collection of data, including quantitative microscopic analyses of fixed immunolabeled tissue.

General laboratory work/preparation.

Cell culture. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Neuroscience
  • Previous research experience
  • Previous experience with immunohistochemistry
  • Experience with GraphPad Prism
  • Experience with poster presentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cell culture experience preferred
  • Some experience with Western Blot
  • Experience handling small laboratory animals preferred Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements: Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
