The RN will conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for older adults with behavioral health needs. Responsibilities include administering medications, supervising support staff, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment in the geriatric psychiatric unit.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Mississippi RN license and CPR/BLS certification. Previous experience in geriatric or psychiatric care and ACLS certification are preferred.

As a PRN RN, you'll provide high-quality, compassionate care while supporting patients and families through individualized treatment plans. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs Respond to emergencies and initiate resuscitative measures per protocols Maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection-control standards Supervise and direct LPNs, Nurse Aides, and support staff Monitor crash carts, equipment, and supply inventory Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment Participate in continuing education to maintain nursing competency
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Licensure: Current RN license in Mississippi (Required) Certifications: CPR/BLS (Required); ACLS Preferred Experience: Previous experience in geriatric or psychiatric care preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Why SGH?
