Responsibilities
Under the direction of physical therapists, provide patient care through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
Record patients’ progress and report results of each treatment to the supervising physical therapist.
Assist with gait training, transfers, balance activities, and use of assistive devices as prescribed.
Maintain safety and comfort during treatments; monitor patient responses and adjust activities as directed.
Document and communicate patient status to the rehabilitation team; contribute to care planning and progress notes.
Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring infection control and proper setup for sessions.
