The Imaging Assistant prepares patients for procedures by reviewing orders, managing schedules, and assisting with clinical care and comfort. They are also responsible for transporting inpatient patients and ensuring a positive discharge experience.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with strong interpersonal and computer skills. Candidates must be able to demonstrate or acquire IV start competency within 60 days of hire.
1. Ensures patient is prepared and available for the imaging procedure
3. Discharges patient and performs follow up phone calls, if necessary
Escorts patient out of Imaging procedure areas Ensures discharge instructions are offered appropriately Performs follow-up phone calls and appointment scheduling as needed Upon request, assists nursing units with patient discharge
4. Ensures the patient experience is positive
Acts as our patient ambassador Is capable of documenting information in the electronic medical record and capable of basic tasks in image retrieval Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information Performs job duties in a safe and conscience manner
5. Provides assistance to the lead technologist · Willingly participates in a schedule that requires travel to any modality, building, location where assistance is required · Participates in regular meetings and teams to improve productivity, patient care, image quality, or efficiency · Maintains positive relationships with other departments and ordering providers · Maintains unexpired inventory and supplies · Responds as required to various Shore Health System emergency “codes” · Is vigilant about federal and state laws and regulations
High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal communication, and organizational skills. Meets the physical requirements of the job as listed. IV start competency to be demonstrated and acquired, if not already completed, within 60 days of start date in this role. Computer skills required.
The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the age of the patients served. He/she must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the necessary care as described in the policies and procedures.
