Certified Counselor — Residential Treatment

ASAM Level 3.5 · Full-Time · Hourly/Non-Exempt · Charlotte, NC

CADC / CADC-I / CADC-R Required

At Anuvia, we believe recovery is possible for everyone. As one of the Carolinas' leading non-profit behavioral health organizations, we provide a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment — from outpatient services to medically supervised residential care. Our teams meet people where they are, connect them to the support they need, and walk alongside them on the path to lasting recovery.

We are looking for a Certified Counselor to join our Residential Treatment team at ASAM Level 3.5. This is a full-time, direct-care role for a credentialed counseling professional who is passionate about recovery, skilled in evidence-based practice, and ready to make a meaningful impact.

  • "If you are a CADC who thrives in a structured residential environment, values team-based care, and wants to work for an organization deeply committed to the communities it serves — we want to hear from you."
  • Guide clients through admissions with empathy and professionalism, including initial assessments (vitals, UDS, ASAM criteria, preliminary diagnosis)
  • Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical and nursing staff
  • Facilitate group sessions on relapse prevention, recovery education, independent living, and community reintegration
  • Complete person-centered care plans (PCPs), crisis plans, and discharge planning documentation
  • Coordinate care within Anuvia and with community partners, referral sources, and families
  • Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation including NC TOPPS, GPRA, and incident reporting
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, quality assurance activities, and staff meetings
  • Flex schedule as needed to support residential staffing ratio requirements

✓ Active CADC, CADC-I, or CADC-R (NCASPPB)

◆ Residential / inpatient (3.5 ASAM) experience

✓ Valid NC or SC Driver's License

◆ Familiarity with NC TOPPS, GPRA, EHR systems

✓ 1+ year direct SUD counseling experience

◆ Experience with PCPs, crisis planning, discharge

✓ Strong clinical documentation skills

◆ Associate's degree or higher in related field

You lead with compassion without losing clinical rigor. You communicate clearly with clients, families, and care teams. You take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and bring a recovery-centered mindset to everything you do. You're adaptable, collaborative, and motivated by mission.
