The Patient Care Assistant performs patient-oriented procedures and prepares patients for examinations under medical supervision. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting physicians with procedures, and maintaining sterile medical equipment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED along with current phlebotomy and CPR certifications. Between 7 to 11 months of related experience or training is required.
Overview The Medical Assistant performs patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a RN, LPN, and/or physician.
Direct patient to proper exam/treatment room, prepare patients for examinations and procedures Take vital signs and document patient reasons for appointment Assist physician with procedures as directed Instruct patients in all appropriate procedures Maintain, clean, and sterilize medical equipment as directed
