The Residential Aide provides direct care and support for the safety, health, and wellness of adults with serious mental illness in a transitional group home. They assist clients with activities of daily living and work within a care team to support recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent. A valid Connecticut Driver's License and a record of predictable attendance are also required.
The Residential Aide is responsible for direct client care. This includes activities of daily living and providing support for safety, health, and wellness. This position also assists program staff, and the ideal candidate will establish, develop, and maintain respectful relationships with the people served. The Residential Aide will participate in maintaining a safe, harm-free environment for all residents. Working within Adult Services, the Residential Aide works on the Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team to support clients’ recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness.
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
