The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct care and support to individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders. They are responsible for implementing treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, and managing crisis situations to ensure patient safety.
Candidates must hold a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification and have experience in alcohol, drug, or mental health services. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate clinical records are required.
The Behavioral Health Technician utilizes clinical documentation skills daily to ensure all patient interactions and care activities are accurately recorded, supporting continuity and quality of care. Crisis management and intervention skills are essential for responding to emergencies and de-escalating potentially volatile situations to maintain a safe environment. To observe and report changes in patient status, contributing valuable information to the treatment team. Knowledge of mental health conditions, informs compassionate and effective patient care and support.
