Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for polysomnography testing, apply sensors, calibrate equipment, and monitor during overnight studies.
• Score sleep studies according to standard guidelines, review data, and document findings in the EMR (Epic).
• Troubleshoot PSG equipment, assist with mask fitting, and provide patient education to improve comfort and cooperation.
• Maintain 1:1 and 2:1 patient-to-tech ratios as required by the assignment and ensure patient safety.
• Complete accurate documentation, participate in shift handoffs, and comply with department policies and quality standards.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; an Associate’s degree will be considered; or successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sleep Technology Program.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PSG experience; 3-5 years strongly preferred.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Skills: Proficient in sleep study scoring, data acquisition, troubleshooting, bedside manner, mask fittings, and patient education.
• Epic experience within the past 2 years is required.
• Ability to work in a hospital sleep lab setting, including nights and weekend shifts.
