Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry Rochester, NY, United States Travel - Temporary Assignment Start: 07/06/2026 Duration: several weeks Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts Weekly pay: $1,800–$1,946 per week Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed Setting: hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit (20 beds) with EPIC charting
Orientation: 4 hours; floating to MS/ICU/ED as needed; every other weekend
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac and stroke populations
Monitor patient status, interpret telemetry, administer medications, and manage IV therapies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary, Rapid Response) to coordinate care
Document in EPIC; update assessments, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge planning as appropriate
Maintain infection control and isolation precautions; administer oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support
Demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement; respond to Rapid Response/Code events; manage dysrhythmias
Float to MS, ICU, or ED as needed by unit staffing
Requirements
Active New York RN license in hand (not pending)
BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (Med/Surg or Telemetry)
EPIC charting experience required
Mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement competency; dysrhythmia interpretation
Ability to float to MS, ICU, and ED; comfortable working 3x12-hour shifts; comply with RTO limits (no holiday RTO; limit to 7 days per request)
