Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols at all times. Handle specimens appropriately and prepare them for laboratory analysis as directed. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping prior to surgical incision. Clean and restock the operating room between cases, including proper handling of contaminated instruments and disposal of sharps and biohazard waste. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.
