The Registered Nurse provides direct skilled nursing care to surgical and orthopedic patients, including medication administration and treatment plan evaluation. They are responsible for coordinating care with patient care technicians and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Candidates must hold a Registered Nurse license and BLS certification, with additional certifications in aggression management and dysrhythmia interpretation required post-hire. An associate degree in nursing is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred.
The registered nurse will perform direct patient/resident care and delegation to patient care technicians in providing care and comfort to the patients. Knowledge and compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines relating to facility care will be maintained. This position has basic medical/surgical knowledge in order to care for general surgical and orthopedic surgical patients. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
