Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ respiratory status and collaborate with the medical team to adjust care plans
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery, inhaled medications, nebulizers, and chest physiotherapy
• Monitor and troubleshoot devices such as oxygen systems, ventilators, and CPAP/BiPAP as assigned
• Perform airway clearance techniques, suctioning, and ABG collection following established protocols
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record; communicate changes to nurses and physicians
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of respiratory equipment; maintain infection-control practices

Requirements

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (RRT) or eligible for Virginia licensure
• Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; willing to travel for temporary assignment
• Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
