The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, collecting vital signs, and assisting with pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for pulmonary examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the visit.
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and respiratory assessments accurately in electronic health records.
  • Assist pulmonologists with diagnostic tests such as spirometry, peak flow measurements, and oxygen saturation monitoring.
  • Schedule patient appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate follow-up care to support continuity of treatment.
  • Manage front desk operations including check in and check out.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols within the pulmonary clinic.
  • Educate patients on medication usage, respiratory therapies, and lifestyle modifications to support lung health.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive care planning and documentation.
