The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support within a care team, including taking vital signs and managing patient records. They are also responsible for maintaining exam room hygiene, sterilizing instruments, and coordinating insurance authorizations.
A high school diploma or GED and basic knowledge of EMR and Microsoft Office are required, with BLS certification needed shortly after hire. An associate degree, medical assistant program graduation, or national certification (CMA/RMA) is preferred.
