Full Time-Days

7a-7:30p, 3 days/week rotating days. Call is required, rotational weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Responsible for delivering high-quality perioperative nursing care in a 9-bed operating room that includes 3 robotic surgery suites. Provides direct patient care using a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures across a variety of specialties.

Key responsibilities include

  • Preparing patients for surgery, including assessment, documentation, and coordination of care
  • Circulating during procedures, maintaining sterile field and patient safety
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team members
  • Managing robotic-assisted surgeries and advanced surgical equipment
  • Monitoring patient status throughout procedures and ensuring smooth transitions of care

Position offers a full-time day shift schedule in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.

  • The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Exceptions

Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN) and an active RN license in Indiana or a compact license. At least one year of OR experience and BLS certification through the AHA are mandatory.
