Job description

Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited, Life Plan Community located just outside downtown Lancaster. We are seeking a highly skilled, enthusiastic, & passionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our compassionate community as we enhance independence and dignity for all our Residents.

Location - The Apostle Center for Care, 56-bed Skilled Nursing Facility

Base Pay

Determined based upon years licensed and experience. Newly licensed CNA's start at $18; Plus applicable shift & weekend differentials

Shift/Weekend Differentials

  • $1.50 additional from 3:00pm-11:00pm
  • $0.75 additional from 11:00pm-7:00am
  • $1.25 additional on Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)

Open Position

  • Part Time
  • 4:45pm-11:00pm; 2-3 days a week & every other weekend/rotating holiday

Essential Job Responsibilities and Objectives

  • 1.
  • Maintain an organized, neat, safe, secure, comfortable environment for every resident.
  • 2.
  • Utilize Point of Care and care plan to provide resident care.
  • 3.
  • Adhere to instructions issued by the Licensed Nursing Staff/Household Coordinator and perform duties in accordance with established Homestead Village routines, methods and techniques, and in compliance with Homestead Villages’ policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  • 4.
  • Work alone or as a team giving total care or assist residents with bathing and hygiene.
  • 5.
  • Ambulatory transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a walker, wheelchair, mechanical lifts, gait belt or assigned therapeutic devices as directed on resident care plan.
  • 6.
  • Answer call “bells” promptly regardless of assignment.
  • 7.
  • Collect data such as temperatures, pulses, respirations, blood pressures and record onto data sheet daily.
  • 8.
  • Record care as provide during the shift such as ADL’s and ambulation.
  • 9.
  • Assist residents with dining needs (this includes assisting in country kitchen), maintain intake and output as requested, weigh resident as instructed.
  • 10.
  • Observe residents and reports physical and/or behavioral changes immediately to charge nurse.
  • 11.
  • Interact tactfully, respectfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors and the entire staff throughout the organization.
  • 12.
  • Perform all resident care as assigned and according to Homestead Village nursing department’s policies and procedures.
  • 13.
  • Participate in activities for residents as directed.
  • 14.
  • Wash residents’ personal laundry as needed.
  • 15.
  • Perform cleaning and all other duties as assigned
