The Ophthalmic Technician assists ophthalmologists by conducting patient assessments and performing various diagnostic imaging tests. They are also responsible for supporting clinical procedures and maintaining accurate patient records in the EMR system.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting. Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and completion of an accredited technician program are preferred.
