Provide telephone, walk-in, and mobile crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health or substance abuse crises. Offer crisis counseling, information, and referrals to community resources via the 988 hotline and face-to-face interactions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field, a nursing license, or a high school diploma with specific direct care or advocacy experience. Current CPR certification is mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, education or a related field; or be a registered nurse. OR Have a high school diploma or equivalency plus 3 years of mental health direct care experience in public or private human services with employment as a mental health staff person prior to 1/1/1992. Or; be a consumer or a family member who has 1 year of experience as an advocate or leader in a consumer or family group and has a high school diploma or equivalent. Or; Staff persons employed by a provider who have 5 years’ experience as a supervisor of mental health services in a mental health agency prior to 1/1/92 will be exempt from this section. Current CPR certification is required.
