Provide specialized medical assessment, treatment, and evidence collection for survivors of sexual violence in the Emergency Department. Facilitate necessary follow-up care, referrals, and provide expert testimony in court when required.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time clinical post-graduate experience. Must hold a valid New York State license as a Physician, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, Nurse Midwife, or Nurse Practitioner.
Respond to sexual assault survivors in the Emergency Department when called in during shift.
Assist survivors of sexual violence by identifying and resolving or ameliorating needs through providing specialized medical assessment and treatment, evidence collection (as indicated), documentation, facilitation of follow-up and referrals, and testifying in court (as indicated).
