The Activities Assistant plans and implements engaging programs to meet the physical, cognitive, and social needs of residents. This includes conducting group and individual activities and maintaining activity calendars and supplies.
A high school diploma is required, with prior experience in skilled nursing facilities or working with elderly and dementia populations preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude.
$17.48–$18.00 per hour
The Activities Assistant supports the planning and implementation of engaging programs designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of residents. This role plays a key part in enhancing quality of life by providing meaningful activities tailored to individual interests and abilities, consistent with care plans and facility standards. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and conducting individual and group activities for residents Encourage resident participation in activities that promote engagement, socialization, and well-being Provide individualized, in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or unable to attend group programming Adapt activities to meet residents’ cognitive and physical abilities Support development and posting of monthly activity calendars Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner Communicate resident needs, preferences, and concerns to the Activity Director and care team Ensure a safe and welcoming activity environment for all residents Transport or assist residents to and from activities as needed Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred Experience working with elderly or dementia populations preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient, and team-oriented CPR certification is a plus Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Bishop Care Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
