The Physical Therapist will perform clinical assessments to identify patient needs and develop a Plan of Care in consultation with the physician. They will also provide therapeutic treatments and evaluate outcomes of care while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to infection control protocols.
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a current Texas State License. Additionally, two years of experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting is required, along with reliable transportation and valid liability insurance.
§ Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association approved program. § Skills: Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills. If required to make visits need proof of current CPR, TB screen and Hepatitis profile. Knowledge of durable medical equipment. § Licensure: Current Texas State License as a Physical Therapist, current Texas Driver’s License. § Experience: Two years experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. § Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid current liability insurance. § Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in a health care facility or patient’s home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather. § Physical and Mental Requirement: Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing. Prolonged standing and walking required. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psycho social needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
