The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for patients in a Level 3 Trauma Center. This includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and promoting evidence-based practice.
Candidates must hold a current MN RN license and have one year of experience in Emergency Department, med/surg, or telemetry nursing. BLS is required, with ACLS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications required within the first year of employment.
Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.
Do you have a special curiosity about the Emergency Department? UMMC East Bank Emergency Department is a 28 bed Level 3 Trauma Center. We deliver care to about 80 patients per day and 30,000 patients annually. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies. Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Transport, and Case Managers. We provide prompt, quality care around the clock, when patients are faced with medical or behavioral emergencies. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) Required Qualifications: Current MN RN license 1 year of RN Emergency Department, med/surg, or telemetry nursing experience BLS for Health Care Providers ACLS certification within 6 months of hire ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) and TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) will be required of all staff within the first year of employment.
