Weekends Only - 26 weekend shifts per year, 24 hours per weekend

3 South Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

• The 3 South unit is a 32 bed Step Down Intermediate Care Unit from ICU.
• The primary population on 3 South are adult and geriatric patients with cardiac disease and stroke.
• In addition, we accommodate acute cardiac events requiring continuous intravenous medication drips, pre and post electrophysiology (EP) studies, pre and post cardiac catheterization, and pre and post pacemaker/automated implantable cardiac defibrillator (AICD) care.
• All RN's are Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified and Stroke Certified.
• The CHF Program Coordinator and the Stroke Program Coordinator work closely with the staff to provide high quality education for the patients.

General Summary

Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.), inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties such as performing EKGs and Point-of-Care testing.
