Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in an outpatient pain center, ensuring pain is well-controlled and safety protocols are followed. Responsibilities include performing assessments, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with the healthcare team.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold a current Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts with BLS certification. BSN and APR experience are preferred.

Pain Center Staff RN - Outpatient Shift - 32hrs/week - Days (Monday through Thursday, no weekends, and no observed holidays.) Essential Functions: Professional Conduct Demonstrates a positive attitude, professional demeanor, compassionate care and active listening skills. Treats all with dignity, courtesy, and respect while working as a committed member of the healthcare team. Professional Development Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Maintains current licensure and certifications as per job description, and keeps current on assigned education and training tasks. Nursing Practice Practices within the scope and service outlined in the Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes Standard Universal Precautions. Patient Advocacy Advocates for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes. Documentation Documents in a timely and accurate manner. Documents all changes as well as relevant information regarding patient's response to intervention, therapeutic regimens, and patient progress as it relates to plan of care and patient's response to teaching. Patient Care Ensures that patient's pain is well controlled. Responds to patient needs in a timely manner, including answering call lights. Patient Communication Communicates effectively with patients, families peers and other members of the healthcare team. Includes patient, family, and care-givers in all aspects of care white ensuring that all explanations are understandable. Assessment Completes admission and on-going assessments based on patient needs within appropriate time frame. Identifies patient's individual needs, problems, issues, concerns and considers chronological and developmental levels. Safety Continually insures patient safety by compliance with, but not limited tot hospital policies and procedures, the Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals and Universal protocol. Provides a safe, secure professional environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Leadership Responsibilities Provides appropriate guidance and support to team members while acting as a resource or preceptor to new staff. Delegates tasks in compliance with scope of practice and hospital job descriptions. As part of charge nurse responsibilities, ensures that assignment considers acuity, patient flow and experience and expertise of staff. Required Skills: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. APR Experience preferred Communication: Must possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others. Minimum Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. Required Licenses: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Maintains BLS. Physical Demands: Provide direct care to patients, including lifting, moving, and assisting. Regular standing, bending walking and lifting. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
