The Sleep Technologist is responsible for preparing and conducting both in-center and out-of-center sleep studies. This includes applying sensors, analyzing and scoring sleep data, and maintaining lab equipment.
Candidates should be high school graduates with a degree from an accredited polysomnography program and hold a professional credential such as RPSGT, CRT-SDS, or RRT-SDS. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Sleep Study Preparation: Review patient charts, and testing orders, and verify patient identification. Sleep Study Set-Up: Apply electrodes and sensors per AASM guidelines and explain procedures to patients. Sleep Study Procedure: Conduct in-center and out-of-center sleep studies, ensuring quality and exceptional patient care. Analysis and Scoring: Analyze and score sleep studies.
Clean equipment and patient rooms, perform routine maintenance, and manage lab supplies.
HS graduate and graduate from an education program in polysomnography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) preferred with sleep credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT), the National Board of Respiratory Care (CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST).
BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
