The Registered Nurse coordinates and performs direct nursing care for patients in the Comprehensive Rehabilitation department. They collaborate with physicians to design and evaluate care plans while serving as a mentor and leader for the patient care team.
Candidates must have a BSN or ADN from an accredited school and hold a current Illinois RN license. Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required, with acute care experience preferred.

With the leadership of the Manager, the Registered Nurse functions as an interactive resource in clinical nursing and professional practice. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordinating of and performing direct nursing care for patients, utilizing concepts of the nursing process, serves as resource, preceptor, mentor, and leader for physicians, professional peers and other fellow employees, and provides participative supervision to the Patient Care Team in collaboration with the Patient Manager.
The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Department is uniquely partnered in an alliance with the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, allowing our staff to provide the best patient care experience. Our highly dedicated team focuses on best practices and successful patient outcomes.
• Acute care or related experience providing nursing care to patients within at least the last five years

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
