• Description: Come join the Nursing Support team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! Position Purpose The Nursing Support (NS) colleague (uncertified, certified, unlicensed, or licensed) provides safe, quality health care services & / or assistance to patients under the supervision & direction of a registered nurse or other designated health care professional in accordance with level of experience, education, policies & procedures.

• “patients” refers to patients, clients, residents, participants, customers, What you will do Prepares and sets up the operating room, including equipment, instruments, sterile table, and required supplies for surgical procedures. Ensures sterility and aseptic technique throughout the case, including checking equipment and packages, maintaining sterile fields, and addressing any breaks in technique. Assists with patient preparation, including positioning, bed/fracture table setup, and draping. Manages intraoperative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles, and properly handling specimens. Provides procedural support and communication, including responding to emergencies (e.g., C-sections), operating specialty equipment, and giving report to relief staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in high school, in process of completing a GED, or has obtained high school diploma or GED; Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement. Valid driver’s license where required by assignment.
