Our New Graduate Nurse Residency program delivers nursing orientation and organizational socialization within the profession. Throughout the program you will be supported by leaders and mentors who care about your success and will help you become the nursing professional you’ve always envisioned. Why Choose Us? The program includes: 18-28 weeks of practice-based orientation focused on hands-on clinical training, where new nurses work closely with experienced preceptors to build their skills gradually. Work beside your peers on Professional Development activities, including workshops and courses, and the completion of an Evidence-Based Project. Ongoing mentorship beyond the first year to continue professional growth and support.

Choose the Residency Cohort Start Date that works best for you: February 2, 2026 May 11, 2026 August 3, 2026 November 9, 2026 **Applications must be submitted at least 1 month before cohort start date Job Summary and Responsibilities A CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into practice. They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas, listed below. Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient/customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making and critical thinking, and patient safety. Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and Patient Care: Builds skills to utilize current evidence based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals across the lifespan and care continuum. Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication: Learns to collaborate and communicate with the interprofessional team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
