Supports physicians and nursing staff by preparing patients and assisting during endoscopy and spinal injection procedures. Responsible for the cleaning, sterilization of instruments, and maintaining a safe, aseptic environment in the endoscopy suite.
Requirements summary
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and current BLS certification, with previous experience in endoscopy or spinal injections preferred. Must possess strong knowledge of sterile techniques and the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse population.
Supports Physician and nursing staff to provide individualized and specialized care to patients in the endoscopy and spinal injection area.

Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in preparing patient for designated procedure
Assists physician during endoscopy and spinal injection procedures
Handles patient specimens per policy
Accurately completes laboratory slips and culture/pathology slips
Reports observed changes in patient condition to nurse or physician
Restocks supplies as appropriate for the next procedure or end of day
Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite according to requirements of patient, physician, and procedure
Follows manufacturer’s instructions for use for all steps of cleaning, high level disinfection or sterilization of instruments and/or equipment
Terminal cleaning as assigned
Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies
Orients and trains new staff
Proactively participates in QAPI and Safety Programs
Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the Code of Conduct

Required skills/Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to implement principles of aseptic and sterile technique
Knowledge of endoscopy and spinal injection equipment use and care
Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and basics of care to include anesthesia and potential complications
Recognition of signs and symptoms of emergency situations and interventions
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population professionally
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within Bend Surgery Center and external customers, clients and potential employees
Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English

Stated salary in posting is the full salary range. Hiring salary cap is limited to mid-point of $28.06 per hour/ $29.56 with CER certification.
