The technician is responsible for the continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms and the accurate interpretation of rhythm strips. They must notify appropriate medical staff of any baseline changes or lethal rhythms according to established protocols.
A high school diploma or GED is required, though 10 years of work experience may be substituted. No prior experience is required, but the candidate must be able to handle the physical demands of a hospital environment.
