Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 Night shifts
• Floating to ICU and all inpatient units as needed
• Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital / PCU

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, patient-centered care to PCU patients within RN scope, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; manage respiratory support such as BiPAP when indicated
• Support patients with chest tubes, PICC lines, and the drawing of own labs when required
• Respond to clinical changes, initiate codes when necessary, and prepare patients for transfer or consultation with specialists
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other care team members; communicate effectively with patients and families
• Maintain proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record and participate in unit-based protocols; float to ICU and other inpatient units as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in Kansas or a Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs is preferred
• Ability to float to ICU and all inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED) and adapt to unit needs
• EPIC EMR experience; strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Availability for the stated shift pattern and travel assignment; new graduates are not accepted
