Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures to produce images of internal body tissues for diagnosing conditions like heart disease and cancer. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, maintaining equipment, and documenting findings for physicians.
Requires a diploma or certificate from an ultrasound school and BLS certification. Candidates must be registered by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT in specific sonography specialties within one year of hire.

Produces images of internal body tissues in order to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy and cancer. Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel. Maintains equipment.
