  • Category: Dental One PRN (4-8 Hours/week) position | Saturdays ONLY | Located at the Pediatric Dental Clinic (84th and Q Street) | Job Duties The Dentist works as part of the dental team to provide high-quality, primary dental care services to patients of all ages, in alignment with OneWorld’s mission. The Dentist works in conjunction with dental leadership to achieve industry-leading clinical outcomes in accordance with accepted dental practice standards and policies. Examines, diagnoses, and treats disease, abnormalities, injuries, and/or disorders of the oral cavity for adults and children. This includes preventive, restorative, periodontic, removable prosthodontics, fixed prosthodontics, minor oral surgery, emergency treatment, and pediatrics. Orders diagnostic radiographs according to approved protocols. Evaluates findings and prescribes type, extent, and order of treatment; refers non-dental problems to the appropriate medical specialty. Emphasizes primary prevention, inclusive of oral health education, topical, and systemic fluorides, periodontal prophylaxis, exams, and dental sealants as appropriate; as well as secondary prevention to include periodic examinations with radiographs, prompt treatment of oral lesions, and compulsory exams. Maintains adequate and current dental records for effective patient care in a timely manner and in compliance with required standards. Participates in the development and implementation of OneWorld’s quality assurance plans, performance improvement plans, and risk management programs. Cooperates in the development of OneWorld’s marketing programs and participates, as needed, in marketing activities that enhance the visibility, acceptance, and use of OneWorld’s Services. The tasks outlined above are intended to provide a general overview of the role and are not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or job functions. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the business, and responsibilities may evolve to meet the changing needs of the organization. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited dental school with a degree of Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) required. Completion of a Dental General Practice Residency (GPR) or an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) preferred. Active, valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Dentist in the state of Nebraska; or license eligibility. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Dental Record preferred. Proficiency in English required; proficiency in Spanish preferred. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to culturally diverse patients, as well as other providers and staff members. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry and oral surgery. Ability to be credentialed and approved by OneWorld’s Board of Directors. Ability and willingness to travel to and from multiple work locations for coverage purposes, if needed. Requirements

Requires a DDS or DMD degree and a valid Nebraska dental license along with DEA registration and BLS certification. Proficiency in English is required, while Spanish proficiency and GPR/AEGD completion are preferred.
