Licensed Veterinary Technician, Emergency

$30.00–$40.00/hr + Shift & Weekend Differentials + Sign-On Bonus Up to $5,000

Full-time opportunity in Vancouver, WA

Schedule

Day Shift. All employees are scheduled and expected to work rotating holiday shifts in the emergency and critical care department, and required to participate in the on-call rotation as needed. Shifts are subject to revisions and changes at the discretion of the hospital.

Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital located in Vancouver, WA, just outside Portland, OR, offering advanced veterinary technology in a supportive work environment focused on wellness and mental health.

In your day-to-day, you will

  • Manage and provide for the patient's needs in the ER and critical care department
  • Participate in patient triage to maximize efficiency, and provide client updates during triage
  • Assist in patient stabilization, including IV catheter placement, drug/fluid therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Perform diagnostics and treatments on patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Induce and monitor general anesthesia/sedation procedures
  • Perform patient discharge and provide client education, including home care instructions and medication information
  • Maintain open and clear communication with the patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture
  • What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an AVMA-Accredited Veterinary Technician Program preferred
  • Must hold an LVT or be able to transfer an out-of-state license to Washington
  • 6 months of veterinary experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care, with flexibility and adaptability to new situations
