Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized patient assessments and prioritize data collection; notify the Charge Nurse and physician of abnormal findings
  • Develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Perform nursing procedures and treatments ordered by the physician (e.g., EKGs, blood draws, IV starts) and keep the work area clean and organized
  • Administer medications per facility policy, verify accuracy, manage supplies, and document administration
  • Provide patient and family education, document assessments and responses to care
  • Respond to emergencies per resuscitation protocols, coordinate with staff and physicians, and maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements

  • Current California Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
  • Ability to meet physical demands (standing, walking, bending, lifting) and maintain stamina; able to tolerate challenging patient behavior; good mental health
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written) and dependable, with good attendance
  • Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities; maintain safety and infection control standards
