About the role

The provider will assist supervising physicians in managing patients and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The role focuses on advancing the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of medical practice through clinical care and education.

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) for our HIMG - Primary Care Department.. This position promotes excellence in patient care by advancing the quality, efficient, and cost-effective care, and scope of medical practice through clinical practice, education, consultation, research, and administrative roles. Assists supervising physician in the management of patients, and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the physician.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program and holds a current license in the State of West Virginia. Attains and maintains limited prescriptive privileges according to the West Virginia Code.

Experience

Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience preferred.

SKILLS

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff and other health care providers. Ability to use equipment needed for a thorough physician examination. Behaviors which reflect understanding, emotional stability, patience, tact and consideration for individual difference. BLS and ACLS required.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a current West Virginia license. Three to five years of experience is preferred, along with BLS and ACLS certifications.
