Psychiatric Technicians assist the nursing department in maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for in-patient psychiatric patients. They provide essential hands-on support and total care for patients during their stay.
Minimum Requirements At minimum, the candidate must be able to: pass a background check to work with vulnerable children and adults. work weekends and holidays (shift differentials may apply). attend each day of new employee orientation 8 AM - 5 PM (9 days). Preferred Qualification: The preferred candidate for this position is: able to provide the highest quality care to our patients. able to work with patients in a manner of sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. able to observe the environment, monitor changes in safety, inappropriate activity, or potentially harmful behavioral issues. able to respond appropriately in situations where safety to self, patients, and others may be compromised.
We currently offer full time, Time Limited (TL) acuity pool positions. Medical insurance benefits are available and start day one for our full-time employees. Upon completion of training, new psychiatric technicians are invited to transition into a full time benefited (Schedule B) position on a designated unit, subject to the needs of the hospital.
