About the role

The Procedure Coordinator Medical Assistant coordinates Women's Health procedures and manages referrals, scheduling, and patient follow-up. They also provide clinical support to ensure efficient daily operations within the medical practice.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT- Women’s Health Are you passionate about helping the underserved? Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are committed to caring for our patients with purpose and integrity and providing our team members with the support they need. The Procedure Coordinator Medical Assistant (PCMA) serves as the Secondary Medical Assistant for the clinical area while coordinating Women's Health procedures, including Vaginal/Anal Pap Smears, Colposcopies, High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA). This role is responsible for managing referrals, scheduling procedures, tracking patient follow-up, coordinating care plans, and communicating results to patients. The PCMA also provides clinical support to ensure efficient daily operations within the medical practice when necessary. We are looking for a full-time PCMA. We recognize the hard work and initiative of our Medical Assistants (MAs). MAs providing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures. We are seeking a full-time PCMA to work 5 days a week (8 hours a day) for 40 hours weekly at our Minnie Jones Health Center (MJHC) 257 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. Therefore, MAs are not required to work evenings, nights, weekends or WNCCHS observed holidays. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Current certification as a Medical Assistant - required

OR, 3 to 5 years as medical assistant in an outpatient health care setting

Experience with patient scheduling, care coordination, or referral management preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must have a current Medical Assistant certification or 3 to 5 years of experience in an outpatient healthcare setting. Experience with patient scheduling and care coordination is preferred.
