The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions in the home setting. This role is ideal for clinicians with experience in chronic cardiac care or those looking to grow in a specialized program.
Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with the established plan of care under RN supervision Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including cardiac and respiratory status Administer medications, including cardiac medications, as ordered Perform treatments such as wound care, vital sign monitoring, and oxygen therapy support Reinforce patient and caregiver education on disease processes and care plans Recognize and report signs of cardiac or respiratory distress promptly Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Follow infection control and patient safety protocols
Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Florida Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (home health or cardiac experience preferred; willing to train strong candidates) Experience with CHF, COPD, post-cardiac care (including CABG) strongly preferred IV Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire Current BLS certification Strong clinical, observation, and communication skills Ability to follow care plans and work under RN supervision
