About the role

The Staff Nurse performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe therapeutic care to patients, including those undergoing obstetric procedures. They are responsible for scrubbing, circulating, and recovering patients for cesarean sections as needed.

This is a part-time night shift opportunity

Rate of Pay

$70.17/hour + DOE + Shift Differential

Summary Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care to patients including patients undergoing obstetric operative or other invasive procedures. Scrubs, circulates and recovers for cesarean sections as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assesses physical and psychosocial needs of patients.

Plans individual care of patient and documents care plan.

Implements and evaluates individual plan of care.

Identifies and provides education to patient and/or significant other.

Coordinates resources for complete and effective patient care.

Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Utilizes equipment properly.

Participates in departmental growth and development.

Pursues professional growth.

Follows patient care standards.

Ability to work standby.

Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.

Complies with System policies and procedures.

Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Education and Experience Associate's Degree from college or vocational school from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty. 1-2 years of relevant experience Licenses, Certifications California Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Upon Hire

BLS/ACLS

  • employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support (ALS). Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS and ACLS certification).

  • Withing 6 months of employment

Other Experience, Qualifications Required

  • One to two years in labor and delivery unit with adequate number of deliveries to ensure competence in all areas of labor, delivery, postpartum, and new born care.
  • Must complete Baby Friendly coursework (Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding) within 6 months of hire.
  • Must complete Relias Fetal monitoring within 3 months of hire.
  • Additional
  • Coursework: GE Health Systems, AWHONN Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
  • If hired without L&D experience, must complete and pass a L&D class approved by the Association of American Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) within 3 months of hire date.
  • Temporary or seasonal staff may be hired with only postpartum experience per management discretion.

Preferred

• Familiar with fetal monitoring high-risk labor/delivery, neonatal and postpartum management.

Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in nursing and 1-2 years of relevant experience, particularly in labor and delivery. Licenses and certifications such as California RN, BLS, and NRP are required upon hire.
