What you'll do

As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

include:

  • Assisting veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Educating clients on preventive care, treatment plans, and overall pet wellness
  • Placing IV catheters and collecting diagnostic samples
  • Calculating and preparing medication dosages accurately
  • Administering medications and treatments as directed
  • Performing and interpreting basic cytology preparations
  • Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures and recovery
  • Preparing patients for surgery and assisting during surgical procedures
  • Performing dental cleanings, dental radiographs, and related procedures
  • Positioning patients for diagnostic radiographs
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and treatment areas
  • Demonstrating initiative and contributing positively to team culture
  • What we're looking for
  • Minimum of 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Experience in a full-service general practice, emergency, specialty hospital, or a combination of these settings
  • Strong technical and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and client education abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
