Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary punctures while ensuring proper specimen labeling, processing, and storage. Maintain departmental equipment and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a primary care setting.

We are currently in search of a Certified Phlebotomists who likes to connect with people and has a compassionate outlook for our Beavercreek location.

Beavercreek Commons Family Practice, like all Providence Medical Group primary care practices, is recognized as Patient-Centered Medical Home and focus on building lasting patient relationships based on trust and continuity of care.

  • What you will do
  • Ensure venipuncture and capillary punctures align with PSC policy with high accuracy
  • Gather specimens across all age groups, proficient in urine drug screen collection
  • Complete requisitions accurately, adhering to policy
  • Properly handle patient identification and specimen processing
  • Label and prepare specimens correctly for testing
  • Verify billing information for accuracy
  • Skilled in collecting PCR nasopharyngeal swabs and performing POCT testing
  • Retrieve, process, and store specimens as per protocol
  • Maintain appropriate specimen storage temperatures and prepare batches for transport
  • Manage order and specimen flow
  • Assist in troubleshooting patient draw, order, and specimen issues
  • Operate and maintain departmental equipment, ensuring functionality
  • Communicate effectively and courteously, prioritizing customer service
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and replenish supplies as needed
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies
  • Perform other job duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have recent phlebotomy training or experience, with at least 100 venipunctures completed. Certification required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Must be able to stand most of the shift
  • Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
  • Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies
  • Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas
  • Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness

Requirements
