About the role

The Residential Recovery Specialist supports residents in a trauma-informed environment by assisting with daily living tasks and following individualized treatment plans. They are responsible for facilitating recovery groups, administering medications, and maintaining a safe, structured community.

Position Summary

The Residential Recovery Specialist (RRS) supports residents in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. This role helps residents follow their individualized treatment plans, engages them in recovery and relapse prevention, and assists with daily living tasks such as meal prep, housekeeping, and transportation. The RRS plays a vital role in fostering a supportive, recovery-focused community. Pay Rate: $19 - $21 an hour Open Shifts:

Saturday through Monday 3pm-11pm, Wednesday 2pm-4pm (26hrs)

Friday through Sunday 3pm-11pm, Wednesday 2pm-4pm (26hrs) Key Responsibilities Ensure resident activities support program policies, treatment goals, and a structured routine. Provide trauma-informed, gender-responsive support, including crisis intervention and de-escalation. Assist with daily living tasks, independent living skills, and participation in recovery-focused activities. Facilitate or co-facilitate groups, meetings, and structured program activities. Transport residents as needed and maintain safe, organized program spaces. Document resident progress, administer medications per MAP certification, and promote a recovery-oriented, person-centered environment. About the GRIT Program The GRIT program at MHA provides residential rehabilitation for individuals with substance use challenges and co-occurring mental health conditions. Residents participate in individualized counseling, recovery-focused programming, and community activities such as education, job training, or employment, all within a structured and supportive environment. With locations in Springfield (men’s programs) and Holyoke (LGBTQIA+ program), GRIT combines the comforts of home with access to vital resources. A skilled, multidisciplinary team works closely with each resident to support recovery, personal growth, and long-term stability, while creating personalized aftercare plans for a successful return to the community. Experience working with individuals impacted by homelessness, trauma, psychiatric diagnoses, and/or addiction preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize tasks. Strong oral, written, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to build supportive community in a diverse residential setting. Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in MAP, CPR, and First Aid. Requirements
