Veterinary Technician, ICU Overnight | $27–$34/hr Location

  • Compensation: $27–$34/hour + Overnight Differential

PEAK Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, VT is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team. This part-time overnight Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys fast paced urgent care medicine while providing advanced nursing care for hospitalized patients.

As an ICU Veterinary Technician at PEAK, you’ll work alongside urgent care clinicians and specialty teams while managing complex cases, growing your technical skills, and making a meaningful impact every shift.

  • Compensation
  • $27–$34/hour based on experience and credentials
  • Additional $4/hour overnight differential for hours worked between 11:00pm–7:00am

Responsibilities

  • As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you’ll provide advanced patient care while supporting critically ill and hospitalized patients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Provide advanced nursing care for ICU, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Urgent Care patients
  • Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients while recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition
  • Perform technical skills including IV catheter placement, medication administration, dosage calculations, and fluid therapy management
  • Provide nutritional support and individualized nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Collect, prepare, and process diagnostic laboratory samples
  • Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, specialty procedures, and advanced patient care
  • Support patient stabilization and ongoing critical care monitoring
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients regarding hospitalized patients
  • Support inventory management for medications, equipment, and ICU supplies
  • Collaborate closely with specialists, urgent care clinicians, Veterinary Technicians, and support teams to provide exceptional patient care

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience required
  • ICU, Emergency, urgent care, or specialty veterinary experience strongly preferred
  • CVT, RVT, or LVT credential preferred
  • Strong technical nursing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-specialty environment
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and motivated to learn
  • Passion for providing exceptional patient care and advocacy
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Requirements
