About the role

The Occupational Therapist provides inpatient and outpatient therapy services according to physician treatment plans. Responsibilities include evaluations, assessments, treatment implementation, and the potential supervision of assistants and students.

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry. We are proud to share our strong tradition of excellence, progress and solid economic performance. Founded more than 75 years ago as a community hospital, today we operate three clinics, 24/7 emergency services, inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services. We have invested millions in facility upgrades just in the last few years. With more than 225 employees and average tenure of eight years, our growth continues with multiple expansion projects currently underway. We are an affiliate of MercyOne. About The Job: The Occupation Therapist will be responsible for performing all Occupational Therapy Services including outpatient and inpatient. This individual provides occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with the physician treatment plans. This includes evaluation, assessments, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. He/she may also be involved in the supervision of Certified Occupation Therapy Assistants, Rehab aides and students. This position will assure quality occupational therapy care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes. The Position: PRN, work as needed.

  • EDUCATION: Completion of American Occupational Therapy Association accredited occupational therapy program with a B.S., B.A., M.O.T.,M.S., M.A., or OTD degree Successful completion of the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board(AOTCB) Licensed as an occupational therapist, registered in the state of

  • APTITUDES: Must have very good interpersonal skills Must have the ability to be an autonomous decision maker Must have the ability to work with multicultural and multigenerational customers Must exhibit a desire for professional growth and development by demonstrating the willingness to learn, improve job skills and knowledge, and educate supportive personnel Ability to work flexible hours Must have basic computer skills Maintains certification for assigned work area Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Requirements

Candidates must have a degree from an AOTA accredited program and be licensed as an occupational therapist in the state of Iowa. BLS certification is required, and one year of experience is preferred.
